A wonderful Summer so far. The group has been performing regularly throughout the good weather, in the finest venues in Dublin. These included St.Patrick’s Cathedral, The King’s Inns and the National Gallery of Ireland. One of our favourite though was in the intimate setting of Teeling’s Distillery in The Coombe for Childvision with the Ken Edge.
December 10th, 11th & 18th 2016. Witness History @ The GPO, Dublin
Witness History asked us to perform 6 short concerts in December. The venue is unique in Dublin and the concerts were completely acoustic. With the hustle and bustle of Dublin all around us this was an oasis of peace, with The Spire on O’Connell Street proving an unlikely backdrop to our festive concerts. This was the only celebration of the centenary of 1916 that Anúna undertook and it was done to honour John and Michael McGlynn’s grandfather Captain Tom Ringrose. It couldn’t have been more fitting and lovely. Many thanks to the staff at Witness History, an exhibition well worth seeing.
November 27th 2016, Euro-toques Ireland, The Intercontinental Hotel, Dublin
Finally we get invited to something that allows us to dress up! Euro-toques Young Chef Of The Year was our final private event of the year, and what a night it proved. We opened up the dinner with a hugely appreciative audience of creators and artists. Chefs!! Then they kindly invited us to dinner which was stunning. The Intercontinental was Christmas personified. A wonderful evening. Happy Holidays to all of you!
September 28th 2016 – Connect16, The Royal Dublin Society, Dublin
CONNECT16 is a live showcase of the events industry in Ireland. Denise Flynn’s company Trickyfeat had a stand there today and we showcased our show “Origin” for the first time. It was a huge success. We met a lot of old friends and made some new ones too. This was our cool banner for the day. It pretty much says it all!
June 12th 2016 – The Curtis Cup, Dúnlaoghaire Golf Club
Great Britain and Ireland won today in an historic encounter on this beautiful course near Enniskerry. We got a chance to take some photos, including Denise’s wonderful selfie. All of the performers were absolutely out of this world. A massive thanks to DLGC for a wonderful evening.
The Europe Hotel May 4th 2016
Another gorgeous 5 star venue in Kerry. The Europe Hotel has been one of our favourite venues for many years. These shots will give you some idea of the preparation and ambience of our performances.
January 29th 2016 – Trinity College becomes Hogwarts!
This was a wonderful event at the end of January 2016. A large and very respectful French audience were entertained thoroughly, complete with Harry Potter costumes [the guests…]. All of the introductions were in French by Garrath, Rebecca and Joanna. This one was incredible fun and The Dining Hall looked eerily similar to Mr.P’s.
October 7th 2015 – Dublin Castle
October 2nd 2015 – New Single Release!!!
Today saw the first single release from Anúna for 15 years! It’s our version of the Scottish song “Fionnghuala”, remixed for 2015. The song was recorded live in Cleveland [Many thanks to Denny Young] and is a song about fishing. It’s in a style of singing called “puirt a beul” or Mouthmusic.
August 8th 2015 – The World Ship
The World docked in Dublin for three days in August. We performed for VIPs and dignitaries from all over the world for the second time. This gala dinner in Dublin’s Mansion House was the highlight of their trip, as part of the venue’s 300th anniversary. The group performed “in the round” standing onstage in the center of this beautiful space, moving through the audience between two stages.

August 6th 2015 – Doosan Incentive Group
This was a lovely event in Luttrellstown Castle in North Dublin in August. We used the small group to entertain 25 guests as part of a North American/Canadian incentive trip for Doosan. We performed a short set by candlelight in the Van Stry Room of this beautiful venue.

June 23rd 2015 – Citibank Ireland 50th Anniversary
Located in the docklands area of Dublin, we celebrated Citibank’s birthday in great style. The event took place in June and the performance consisted of a 25 minute set in their spectacular atrium space, over three levels.
